DJing at Bellows Mill offers some unique considerations that can really shape the evening’s atmosphere. With its stunning riverside views and charming rural setting, it’s a fantastic backdrop for a wedding. However, the space does require a bit of planning when it comes to setting up my equipment.

Space and Setup

One thing to note about Bellows Mill is the potential for sloping walls within the tipi, which can affect rig height and sound distribution. I always recommend discussing the setup position in advance to ensure the best sound is achieved while also considering the flow of your guests throughout the venue. Make sure to have a chat about power availability as well; ensuring there are sufficient outlets for my equipment is key, especially if you plan on using additional lighting or other features.

Music and Requests

My approach to music is quite straightforward. Couples typically provide up to 25 must-play tracks and 25 that are play-if-possible. While I do welcome guest requests during the night, I can’t guarantee that every song will make it to the playlist. I aim to read the room and respond to the energy of your guests, creating a dynamic atmosphere that evolves as the evening progresses.
