Neesha and Tom at Bridge House Barn

Neesha and Tom brought a broad, personal mix of music to Bridge House Barn, including indie, rock, hip hop, funk and dance.

Neesha and Tom’s music throughout the day

Although I supplied the Classic evening dj package with no extras, the music covered much more than the evening party. It began with guest arrival and continued through the ceremony, food service and reception.

Before the ceremony, Alt-J, Arctic Monkeys, The Maccabees, Razorlight and The Rumble Strips created the indie feel they had requested. Afterwards, Bellaire, Wet Leg and The Dare played while guests chatted, enjoyed garden games and had photographs taken.

Later, the food-truck background music moved through Abhi The Nomad, Kanye West, Tom Misch, Drake, Travis Scott and Brenton Wood.

Neesha and Tom’s first dance and party

Neesha and Tom opened the evening dancing to Loving You by Paolo Nutini. Then Sauda Khara Khara brought their family onto the floor before the wider party began.

From there, the requests deliberately moved between styles. Mambo No. 5 sat alongside Paolo Nutini, Queen, The Streets, T. Rex, Fleetwood Mac, Pitbull and Tom Misch.

Meanwhile, three planned metal moments introduced Limp Bizkit, Turnstile and My Chemical Romance without allowing rock to dominate the whole evening.

Neesha and Tom’s sound limiter challenge

However, the hardest part of Neesha and Tom’s night was the venue’s 90dB sound limiter. Whenever the sound remained above its limit, the system reduced my music dramatically.

It was a very difficult thing to manage for everyone, the Dhol drummer unintentionally triggered it immediately, while crowd noise and whistling could also set it off really easily. At first, some guests found that funny and deliberately tried to activate it.

Nevertheless, the repeated volume cuts disrupted the night despite careful management. Neither I nor the venue could remove the restriction because Bridge House Barn operates under a noise restriction order.

The venue itself is wonderful, and I genuinely felt for its team. However, couples who enjoy music above conversation level should understand this restriction before booking.

Other suppliers working with Neesha and Tom

Several other suppliers contributed to Neesha and Tom’s day. Catering came from Harp at BBQ Rub Hut, Zak from The Codfellas, and Lee from Serious Dough Co.

James Robinson of Adept Imagery photographed the wedding, while Rhys Fradley Films handled the videography. The Dhol drummer was the rather excellent Harvey from the Percussionist.
