Margie and Ben at the Cider Mill Barns

Ben & Margie at Cider Mill Barns – Classic evening dj

Ben & Margie celebrated their wedding at Cider Mill Barns with a full evening of dancing and music. I arrived at 6:00 PM to set up and started playing from 7:00 PM, delivering my Classic Evening DJ package for their evening reception.

The night began with cake cutting at 7:30 PM to “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole. Shortly after, Ben & Margie took to the floor for their first dance – “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli. For the slow intro, they danced alone. But as soon as the beat kicked in at 1:30, guests poured onto the floor. You can see that moment on YouTube.

The playlist was full of energy. Tracks like “Dancing Queen”, “Absolutely Everybody”, and “Nutbush City Limits” brought constant movement. Each song added something different, keeping the pace lively and varied. Even newer picks like “Espresso” and “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” kept things fresh.

Importantly, Ben & Margie asked me not to play “Mr. Brightside”. With so many solid choices on their list, that wasn’t a problem. From ABBA to Smash Mouth, and Beyoncé to Busted, the music covered decades and genres. Guests responded well, staying engaged from the start to the final track.

The evening ended with “Closing Time” by Semisonic at 11:15 PM. That gave guests a clear cue to begin winding down. I finished at 11:30 PM after one last thank you to the couple. Ben & Margie’s dancefloor never emptied, and it was a joy to support their celebration.

Highly recommend Wayne! He was a fantastic DJ – really great at communication, and tailored the whole booking to us. He played the best tunes and kept the dancefloor full. Great value for money and such a friendly guy.
