David and Ailish celebrated their wedding at Brooksby Hall with a Classic evening dj service built around a broad and carefully considered music selection.

The brief was clear: popular songs, plenty of variety and nothing overly sentimental. Therefore, their choices covered several decades and offered something for guests of different ages.

The evening began at 7.00pm, following setup from 6.00pm. David and Ailish had chosen a mixture of disco, pop, rock, dance and familiar singalong records.

For example, their must-play choices included ABBA, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross and Candi Staton. Meanwhile, newer selections came from Avicii, The Weeknd, Beyoncé and Mark Ronson.

There were also a few less predictable turns. Florence + The Machine sat alongside Frankie Valli, while Outkast shared the list with Gladys Knight & The Pips.

Although the styles varied, the overall direction remained straightforward: recognisable music for a good dance. That made David and Ailish’s request list feel personal without restricting the flow of the evening.

At 7.30pm, David and Ailish took their first dance as Mr and Mrs Standen. They chose Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac, a warm and immediately recognisable choice.

Afterwards, the evening continued with their requested mix. Evening food followed at 9.00pm, so the music could move naturally around that planned break.

No additional extras were supplied. Instead, the focus stayed firmly on the music and the five-hour Classic Evening DJ service.

Later in the evening, the selections could move between Madonna, Shakira, Queen, Pitbull and Womack & Womack. Consequently, the list never became tied to one decade or genre.

Finally, David and Ailish selected Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey for the last dance at 11.55pm. Music finished at midnight, bringing their planned celebration at Brooksby Hall to its close.
