I arrived at 6 pm to set up for a 7 pm start, and the 12x12ft LED dance floor switched the space into party mode. Because the brief leaned toward 90s, 00s, Motown, and wedding classics, I built a route that kept things familiar yet lively. Meanwhile, I noted their do-not-play for “Call Me Maybe,” so I steered away from it.

Deanna and Jamie stepped onto the floor to Coldplay’s “A Sky Full Of Stars.” The intro gave them breathing room, and the chorus brought the first big cheer. Then the floor opened, and friends moved in quickly. “You to Me Are Everything” followed later for the bride’s parents, and it landed with smiles all round.

I mixed “Words of Love,” “The Lady in Red,” and “Yellow” between singalongs and Motown moments. Because timing matters, I held one or two favourites until after evening food at 8:30 pm. Consequently, the room bounced back fast. While hands went up for anthems, I kept transitions tight and the pace steady.

As midnight approached, the LEDs kept drawing people back to the centre. Therefore, the last stretch felt easy to guide. Finally, “Wonderwall” closed the night at 11:55 pm, and Deanna and Jamie finished exactly where they started—together on the floor at The Saxon Mill.
